What are Lumineers?

Unlike traditional porcelain veneers, lumineers are made of extremely thin porcelain, almost similar to the thickness of a contact lens, and only cover the visible area of the teeth. Lumineers camouflage discoloration and hide chipped areas of teeth while improving the shape and appearance of crooked teeth.

What is the procedure?

Dr. Davoudi, at Mesa Family Dental, will place the lumineers directly on the surface of your teeth. Unlike porcelain veneers, lumineers do not require removal of natural teeth enamel. On your first visit, Dr. Davoudi will assess your dental health ensuring that the surface of your teeth qualifies for lumineer adhesion by taking impressions of your teeth. These impressions will then be sent to a lumineer-certified lab for custom-fitted lumineer crafting, with the use of 3D technology, under a qualified master ceramist.

On the next visit, Dr. Davoudi will bond the lumineers to your teeth using an adhesive. Once the procedure is complete the lumineered teeth will be a lot stronger, more durable, and long-lasting. Additionally, they will not require extra dental care or future follow-up visits. Finally, if needed, this cosmetic procedure is reversible because Lumineers can be easily removed and natural teeth can be restored because the old enamel still exists.
